I've read about being able to buy Xunlai (sp) agents, merchants, etc personally for your guild, although I dont think I've heard of actual Guild Storages, in which the whole guild shares a bank, if thats what you mean.

If you're referring to NPC traders and such, A-Net confirmed they will be adding the Merchants, Xunlai Agents, and the various Traders to the Guild Halls in Factions. About a storage account that the entire guild has access to, I have heard nothing on that subject.

I heard the same...but man...a guild storage could come in very useful at times. There is lots of negative side affects that entail the idea of guild storage but it would still have its positive side.

ps: not sure why I quoted you rayne...must have hit the wrong button >.<

i think a good idea is to have the officers/leader take control of the storage, and if someone needs to take something a message will be "(Character) wants to take # of (Item)" and the officers can accept or reject, or select the quanity, but idont know how it would work because there are more than one officers in the guild, maybe they can have a banker? lol.

Yea stinks doesnt it.

What about extra storage for those merging accounts?

I asked Gaile about it in Cantha, and she said that she had asked the devs about it but they just mumbled something...??!?!

so it looks like 6 characters sharing the normal storage box, and no guild storage...

What is their problem with storage? and why dont they explain?

Yeah, now that we get more slots, more items, and more everything, it is truly abhorrent that we don't also get more space to keep these items. I've always been annoyed at the tiny stash, since it hardly has enough space for my materials, not to mention all the other random items I'd like to keep. Remember Diablo 2? In the expansion pack, they doubled the space in your stash (which is the same as storage in GW).

How about a petition for it?

I think by now that they are fully aware of the game players opinion on this.

Have you met anyone yet who says "I dont want any more storage" ?

What should be petitioned for is a reasonable explanation, and non of this avoiding the subject.

If they do continue to avoid it and not answer it properly then there must be only one reason that I would logically come to the conclusion of....

Its a way to encourage those who want extra storage to purchase additional copies of the game

However, I doubt you will ever see ANET say such a thing, nor would Gaile, because this is a very negative reason, people would feel cheated.. and more importantly, it would be the main reason why people should NOT merge their accounts.

I asked Gaile Sunday night after the FPE about extra storage. I remember her reply being something like it is in the works, or being developed, but unlikely to be in Chapter 2.

Argh, 6 characters, tons of items, 1 small box... I feel like all we got is a tiny clown car.

lol, its not hard to 'develop' extra storage..

and the fact that she says it wont be in chapter 2 indicates it would be in the next chapter, which even more suggests that the whole reason why storage is restricted is purley a money making trick.

I agree, it really irks me. I originally thought there was some kind of, for loss of a better word, -balance- issue behind the small amount of storage. Like someway to control money sinks and hoarding items (money sinks as in, well, you've got a storage full of plat and ecto's, etc. - go spend it, you're out of room). Now, well, frankly we like to keep stuff because we like it (i.e. unique skinned weapons, dyes, armor sets, etc.), not because we're hoarding.

Give us more space, Anet! We love the items you scatter throughout the game and would like to keep them, but we need more space!

Well, can you blame them? Your not paying a montly fee, and of coarse they aren't going to be honest about it, because that is just plain a horrible thing to give people to quote. I will say, they do give us less than they could, but you've gotta understand that Arenanet IS a business, and they DO need to make money, which does benefit you. More money to Arenanet means better overall game, and that IS what your after right? Although yes, as I stated, they could give us a little more for extra armor and such.

Some would also claim that it would cause other things like economic issues, and as well as bandwidth issues, however I disagree with both of these. I too would agree with both of these at one point, but then I then eventuallycame to understand that video game economies really aren't as fragile as people make them out to be, and I also have developed more technical knowledge.

My 2 cents,

It depends on what you mean, Guild Storage or Expanded personal Storage? or Expanded personal Storage for people Who purchase Factions and merge the account.

On the Guild storage and on the personal storage I could maybe just about agree with all you say.

However, Merged accounts?

if you Did NOT merge your accounts you would have two accounts both with 4 slots and both with the usual storage.. Total = 8 slots, 2 storage box's

if you MERGE the accounts you get 6 slots .. and thats it!..

so, YES.. In this case I HAVE purchased a second account (factions) they have received their money to help the business... but I am being penalised

Im not arguing the point about having two extra slots here, thats fine.. but two extra slots with NO extra storage I CAN blame them for because I HAVE paid for it.

I'm actually getting excited about being able to make your guild hall a functional town for your guild. Its actually kinda nice to buy the features you want as a guild and leave the ones you don't out. I can see our guild having storage agent for sure, and prob a Standard merchant. Possibility a blacksmith as well. since not every town has those... It also means guests to your guild actually have opportunity for some commerce as well. I really like that...

The whole Shared Guild Storage may be a future upgrade of such a think. A type of Guild Armory, but I doubt its ready for Chapter 2 at the moment. Maybe in a month or two after launch. Its just going to be nice to be able to meet at your hall and not have to deal with all the town chatter yet still be able to do some business with NPCs at the same time. Makes the Guild Hall island a true GUILD..!!! With function, & purpose.

Has there been any offical word as to whether or not we'll get larger storage space?. I'm less concered about Guild storage than I am about my own storage space.
